The content is based on the most frequently discussed topics and challenges brought up in my coaching sessions from 10 years of coaching leaders in startups from the Bay Area and England. It’s also routed in recent psychology and neuroscience research. The agenda is designed to maximize learning, aid retention and create lasting habit-based practices for the future.
During the day attendees will regularly use their own real-life challenges from work as case studies to help them think about how they can take what they've learned and use it immediately. There's time built in to tackle specific issues, ask questions and share best practices with each other.
All food, drink and snacks are provided throughout the day so there will be ample chances to meet and network with people from other companies.

1. Time & Energy Management (9a-10.30a)
Management means a lot of juggling, prioritizing, context switching and emotional control! We cover how to manage your energy (physical, emotional, mental) and identify when you work best. We look at how you're allocating your time and what you need to do to make it more efficient. Lastly we look at how habits work and how they impact our productivity.
2. Management Essentials (10.45a-12.30p)
We look at 5 management techniques to help people feel prepared, confident and connected to their team. We cover how to build trust, listening techniques, Situational Leadership, how to run good 1 on 1s and how to delegate properly.
3. Coaching Fundamentals (1.15p-3.15p)
Using coaching as a leadership technique can dramatically increase the quality of your relationships with your direct reports. They learn how to learn, feel more ownership over their work and feel more confident in their abilities. Coaching saves you time and energy too! We cover coaching fundamentals using the GROW model and when/how to use it.
4. Feedback & Having Tough Conversations (3.30p-4.50p)
We learn how to give high quality, consistent, actionable feedback to our team members and make that part of our normal interactions with them. We learn a simple model of how to have really tough conversations effectively with people and how to help them control their emotions. We also look at how to use praise as a tool for motivation and performance improvement.
